Etheric Awakening

As in most abstract paintings, the material properties of the pigments in this abstract painting are as evident as the colors. A variety of marks include brush strokes that fade and solidify. "Etheric Awakening" speaks to the cycles of growth and regeneration, resilience through the seasons. Pops of bright color come forward after the blue of snow melts. This colorful painting on gallery wrapped canvas features bright tangerine, teal, lime and kelly greens, strawberry, blues and lavenders, with accents of lemon and butter yellow underpainting with an overlay of oil pigment stick highlights. The overall feeling is joy, resilience and intangible optimism.
